Timeline
2026:
- Opened up our UK Webstore in partnership with The state51 Conspiracy in London.
- Celebrated ten years of existence at The New Colossus Festival in NYC.
- Gaadge and Ex Pilots toured the west coast!
- BRNDA toured the EU and played Pies Pala Pop Festival in France!
- Notable alums Merce Lemon (Mexican Summer) Cor de Lux (Ipecac Recordings) signed with larger labels.
2025:
- Welcomed two team members to the label to assist in various operational tasks and project delivery.
- Formally introduced Distro offerings through Crafted Sounds for light-weight digital and physical services.
- Partnered with Spirit Goth to bring their titles to physical retail for the first time ever.
- forty winks' debut EP Love Is a Dog From Hell was reviewed by Pitchfork in July 2025.
- Developed a custom YouTube video playlist carousel for the label website that fuctions on desktop + mobile.
2024:
- Vinyl Me, Please released an exclusive vinyl variant (/150) of A Country Western’s album Life on the Lawn.
- BRNDA played the 9:30 Club in March 2024!
2023:
- Partnered with Polyvinyl Licensing to pitch catalog for TV, film, and video game placement in June 2023.
- Gaadge’s album Somewhere Down Below was reviewed by Pitchfork in August 2023.
2022:
- Partnered with The Business for limited physical distribution in February 2022.
- Left the Misra Records Label Group and partnered with Symphonic for digital and physical distribution in July 2022.
- feeble little horse signed with Saddle Creek in 2022 and would go on to play Coachella in 2024.
2021:
- Crafted Sounds LLC was registered in April 2021.
- Funded a vinyl release and utilized physical distribution services for the first time in August 2021.
- BRNDA's record Do You Like Salt? was named Bandcamp's Album of the Day in August 2021.
- Eyebawl performed at Firefly Music Festival in September 2021 — Full Set Recording
- Established a sync licensing relationship with Park the Van in January 2021.
- Short Fictions signed with Lauren Records at the end of 2021.
2020:
- Booked and planned an unofficial SXSW 2020 showcase (canceled due to COVID-19).
- Graduated college and ran a marathon in April 2020.
- Hosted and pre-produced three "CS Live" sessions for artists performing at home in quarantine.
- Co-released Merce Lemon's debut LP Moonth with Darling Recordings in August 2020.
2019:
- Received our first Spotify editorial placements.
- Released a 21-artist compilation and photo zine for CS021 and my 21st birthday to champion music in Pittsburgh.
- Hosted showcases at Deutschtown Music Festival in 2019 and 2022 with acts from DC, DE, Philadelphia, NYC, and Pittsburgh.
2018:
2017:
- Raised $2,000 for Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania through projects in 2017 and 2019.
- Launched website in August 2017.
2016:
- Released CS001 in April 2016 during my final semester of high school.
